Cambridge A-level Course

The General Certificate of Education Advanced Level or A Level is one of the highest standards of Cambridge qualifications. By completing subject-based courses, students will graduate with the qualifications accepted by the educational bodies in the United Kingdom and the educational authorities of British Crown (dependent on the students completing secondary or pre-university education). Obtaining A Level or equivalent qualifications is generally required for university entrance in a number of countries.

Optional Advanced Level Courses

With over 70 subjects available, students may choose according to their interests and their educational strengths. According to the data provided by Edexcel, Chinese students achieve higher scores in Math, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, and Business, which are core courses that HFLS has been offering. All courses are taught in English.

Advanced Level Course System
The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is an important part of CIE. During this stage, students in HFLS will be exposed to and learn general education. Students choose at least 6 subjects and will work to discover their research interests and selected target schools.
Students in HFLS will focus on 4 or more major courses. This selected focus will boost scores for the Cambridge International Examinations. Students will apply to targeted universities and major. Scores of AS could be used to apply for pre-admission to universities.
Students in HFLS narrow their studies to 3 or more major courses. In order to achieve the scores desired by universities, students will advance their studies and their preparation. As long as all of the requirements are met, universities will officially accept pre-admitted students.
Examinations will be held universally from May to June, with scores announced in August and again, from October to November, with scores announced in the following February. All examinations will be completed in English. Papers are delivered to the UK within the required time and marked strictly confidentially. Tests are graded in the following: A being the best, E being passing, and U being failed. Students are allowed to take another examination if they are not satisfied in any subjects. The highest scores are used in application.
Universities that use A Level qualifications include:
All universities in the United Kingdom, including University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Imperial College London, London School of Economics and Political Science, University of Bath, University of Manchester, University of Loughborough, University of Leeds, and University of Bristol
